Code Games
in the Browser

PixelPAD is a cloud-based editor that is used to create a rapid prototype games for students to create video games and learn the underlying mechanics and code. They believe that learning should be enjoyable, and therefore their aim is to create a fun teaching tool for students to apply their skills, and continue to learn more complex higher level functions.

PixelPAD is made for learners, and they purposely designed to only include features that would be conducive to learning the underlying mechanics and code. Their cloud-based editor uses a highly visual and professional integrated learning environment to ensure students remain engaged in coding.

Brand Strategy

The main goal of this project is to develop a new brand identity that could capture their distinctive cloud-based editor as a teaching tool for students with the aim of teaching the fundamentals of computer programming. The project scope is to design a symbol for their existing PixelPAD wordmark, and seasonal marketing collaterals for their students.

Logo Design

PixelPAD's logo symbol is inspired by the concept of pixels. The creative challenge was to create a logo symbol that could also represent video game development while maintaining fun and modern aesthetic. As a result, I created tiny pixel units to form the shape of the video control in order to capture the essence of their brand—Code Games in the Browser.

Game Sprites

Sprite is a two-dimensional bitmap that is integrated in a 2D video game. The PixelPAD founder, Jamie Chang requested that the game sprites to be in the form of vehicle robots facing four different directions. The goal of this project is to distribute these custom created game sprites to children so that they can create their own video game.
