Diwali Festival
of Lights

The Diwali packaging design is inspired by India's national bird, the "Peacock", which is also present in Indian mythology, folk stories, and cultural celebrations. The main goal was to create a meaningful premium gift that reflects the celebration, as the peacock represents good luck, prosperity, grace, pride, and beauty. To compliment the peacock design, I incorporated decorative elements and ornaments such as rangoli, diyas and lotus, which are part of the festival's celebrations.

I developed a vibrant and colourful palette to support the celebration of light with joyful patterns. These colours are the most prominent colours associated with Diwali celebrations. The finished packaging design included special finishes such as a matte sleeve with gold foil to create a premium-looking gifting box.

Challenges I encountered while working on the design included considering how the designs could be expanded into different formats, such as bar wraps in subsequent years, how the illustration and messaging would appear, and how the product could be displayed on retail shelves in an appealing way that draws customers' attention while maintaining brand standards.
